High house prices in some countries and cities are pushing towards new housing concepts. One of these proposals is the Accessories Dwelling Units (Adu), small homes that can be placed in the garden or on land where there is already a main house.
One of the latest products released in this field was Cosmic Onea small self-sufficient garden shedwith high thermal insulation and which obtains energy thanks to the roof covered with photovoltaic panels.

Cosmic One it’s a versatile mini garden houseideal as a main home, office or additional accommodation. With a surface area of 35 m2the price may seem high: around 333,564 euros with the most basic equipment. But this housing solution is specifically designed for the San Francisco marketwhere the average price of an apartment for sale reaches 11,115 dollars per m2. The model of almost 70 m2 and two bedrooms has a price that starts at 389,313 euros.
The advantage is that it is completely autonomous thanks to its integrated solar system, capable of hosting up to 10 solar panels that provide up to 4 kW of direct current energy. Furthermore, its batteries of up to 5 kWh guarantee the supply of electricity without depending on the external network, managed efficiently via a mobile application.
Beyond its energy capacity, Cosmic One stands out for its high thermal efficiency. The walls, ceiling and floor are equipped with superior insulation to maintain an ideal temperature inside.
This small prefabricated house includes an intelligent air filtration system that purifies incoming air with ultraviolet light and HEPA filters, removing external contaminants. This tiny house is composed of living room, bathroom and bedroom and offers the possibility of customizing it according to the needs of each user, for example by choosing the color of the finishes and materials.
The basic configuration includes solar panels on only half the roof, but it is possible to modify it and cover the entire roof. A rainwater collection system can also be added.
These tiny homes are currently only available for purchase in California. However, the company offers the possibility of making a reservation for $500 on its website. With this reservation, the interested party will be notified as soon as it is possible to build in his area.
