Xbox Games Showcase was certainly a good level event with lots of ads, gameplay videos and great pace. PlayStation players also liked it, too much perhaps, since PS5 owners are asking Sony to respond with a show of the same level.
The comments from PlayStation community members under the Xbox Games Showcase videos are unanimous: the State of Play in May cannot be enoughnow it’s time for a full-blown PlayStation Showcase, and indeed, many hope that Sony can learn from Microsoft for its next digital event.
Sony’s communication has changed considerably over the years and in recent times the publisher prefers to focus on announcements and presentations of upcoming games: in the latest State of Play, for example, we saw Concord and Astro Bot coming out in August and September respectively, as well as LEGO Horizon Adventures and Until Dawn, both undated but scheduled for the end of the year.
Microsoft for its part showed many games at the Xbox Games Showcase: Avowed, Fable, Perfect Dark, DOOM The Dark AgesGears of War E-Day, State of Decay 3, Call of Duty Black Ops 6 and Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle are just some of the games featured in the event.
