According to data released by TrueAchievements, over 80% of Senua’s Saga Hellblade 2 players on Xbox abandoned the game before the end. Or at least, he never unlocked the final achievement you get by completing the story.
Hellblade 2 has a duration of approximately 7 hours, therefore a rather short game by current standards, a duration which has also generated numerous controversies: Hellblade 2 is too short, the players complained. Yet, despite this, very few have finished it on Xbox.
Specifically the last objective was unlocked on Xbox by less than 14% of players, therefore in fact at least 86% of players never got to see the end credits. This taking into account the objectives on Xbox, for example in the TrueAchievements community, completion reaches almost 34% while on Steam it reaches 37%. Also note the completion percentage of the first objective on Xbox, equal to just over 50% versus 84% on Steam.
It’s no mystery that many players bin games long before the end, to move on to other titles, in the case of Hellblade 2 however we are talking about a very short game that can be completed in a couple of evenings. Apparently, however, Ninja Theory’s game was unable to gain the attention span of players for more than a few hours.
