The instant messaging platform is making some changes that don’t seem to be finding great success among users.
Those who don’t like changes will probably not be satisfied with the revolution that will take place on Whatsapp in the coming weeks. To tell the truth, some signs of discontent can already be felt online. WhatsApp users continue to be upset by a change in the app’s design that began months ago.
“I have never seen an uglier shade of green than what is happening on WhatsApp,” he wrote personally on X/Twitter, in a post that has since been shared 5,000 times. “WhatsApp is too green for me,” wrote another. The color palette is just one of the many changes that the platform will adopt.
What is happening on Whatsapp?
The change has been underway for months, but is only now rolling out to some people’s devices. A redesign that’s coming alongside a number of other small design changes that could make the color change more significant.
WhatsApp recently began rolling out what it calls a “new and updated look.” “We’ve made some changes to the look and feel of WhatsApp, including spacing, colors, icons and more,” it says. “These changes bring a new, modern experience to WhatsApp and make it more accessible and easier to use.”
Among the main changes:
- WhatsApp has added a dark mode and more white to the light mode;
- It has adopted an updated search mode for its icons and buttons;
- WhatsApp logo in the Chats tab;
- Updates to Android navigation.
What will happen to Whatsapp web?
The changes that will be made to the Whatsapp web interface, i.e. the “remote” mode of the messaging platform most used by users, are also significant. The latest interface being worked on will try to maintain an experience as faithful as possible to that of the app, always varying the colors: much more space for white and light gray than green. However, the layout of the icons will change slightly.

There will then be a button entirely dedicated only to channels and broadcast lists. Unfortunately, however, it will not be possible to filter the channels by topic. This does not mean, however, that it cannot be added in the future, in the most updated versions of the app, so as to be able to shorten the distance between Telegram and Whatsapp even further.
