“They don’t even send us information leaflets”

“When a city so close to ours obtains an important recognition such as the nomination as Italian Capital of Culture, it is clear that there will be positive effects in our territory too. The bathing season has just started, so we hope that they will arrive in Romagna too tourists attracted by this event”. This was said by Diego Casadei, president of the Cooperativa Bagnini di Riccione, after yesterday morning, his colleague and councilor of the cooperative, Andrea Fratesi, spoke on Rai News 24 about the positive effects of Pesaro 2024 also on seaside tourism in Riccione : “In recent weeks we have seen an increase in tourists on our beaches, due to the historical redevelopment of Rimini – he said – but also to the fact that nearby Pesaro is Capital of Culture 2024 and those who come to the seaside also want to visit the cultural beauties and the cities of art that are near us”.

A positive impact which, however, does not find much confirmation if you move away slightly, arriving in Rimini: “This is a wind that is not yet felt – explains Mauro Vanni, president of the Cooperativa Bagnini di Rimini Sud –. The bathing season, even in due to the bad weather, it has practically not yet started, therefore, I cannot say whether in the future Rimini will also be able to enjoy the arrival of tourists attracted by Pesaro 2024. At the moment, however, we have no confirmation”. Patrizia Rinaldis, president of Federalberghi di Rimini, also agrees: “We have not seen an increase in attendance due to Pesaro being the Capital of Culture – she says -. However, I can say that a few days ago a group of tourists who will be staying here asked me for some information regarding the Pesaro 2024 program of events. Unfortunately, however, I must say that to date, in Rimini, we have not received any information material, a brochure or paper leaflets, perhaps in several languages, to explain to the tourists who arrive here what it is the program of Pesaro Capitale. We have no information and since we believe that it is an opportunity for everyone, given that Rimini has 20 million tourists a year, we could collaborate more”.
