What a year is 2019 right? An important year that saw the release of many games that are still very popular today and which liven up discussions, like these that we have selected for you.

Sekiro Shadows Die Twice
Sekiro is the best game of the year 2019, FromSoftware’s game wins the GOTY at the Game Awards beating Remedy’s Control, Death Stranding, Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Resident Evil 2 Remake.A masterpiece with a unique style (From’s touch is evident) that has won over millions of players thanks to its atmosphere and hardcore gameplay. Who knows, maybe in a few years there might be room on the market for a Sekiro Shadows Die Twice 2.
Resident Evil 2 Remake
The remake of one of the best-selling horror games of all time (along with Silent Hill) gets incredible ratings from the press and is rewarded with stellar sales.And after all, Capcom hit the mark with this production, so much so that the remake formula was then reused for Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4… When is Code Veronica’s turn?
Death Stranding
In 2015 Hideo Kojima broke up with Konami and joined PlayStationwith Kojima Productions signing a publishing deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment.The first child of this marriage is Death Stranding, a controversial game (so much so that, before its launch on PS4 in autumn 2019, Kojima himself confirmed its debut on PC for 2020, with a different publisher – 505 Games -) and which, it is said, didn’t sell that much. It is certainly a divisive game (to find out more, please refer to the Death Stranding review) and not for everyone. The sequel Death Stranding 2 On The Beach is expected for 2025 on PS5.
Control
Control marks the rebirth of Remedy. The Finnish studio comes from two games acclaimed by critics but ignored by the public: we are talking about Alan Wake and Quantum Break, both released under the Microsoft label. Quantum Break is the latest Remedy title published by the Redmond company, later Sam Lake’s company will sign agreements with Epic Games and 505 Games to launch games such as Alan Wake II and Control, both received positively. And the Control sequel is currently in development, albeit without a launch window.
Devil May Cry 5
Released over ten years after Devil May Cry 4, Devil May Cry V marks the relaunch of the Capcom saga after the lukewarm reception given to Ninja Theory’s DmC in 2013. Devil May Cry 5 is a solid action game, Dante is in better shape than ever and things are even better if we talk about the Special Edition (here is our review of Devil May Cry V Special Edition) released the following year and which includes all DLC and the addition of Vergil, as well as full support for the (then) newborn PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Bonus: Days Gone
Launched in April 2019, Days Gone is still a topic of discussion todaybetween those who find it a masterpiece and those who just find it a good game (to clarify your ideas, here is our review of Days Gone). Shortly after the launch, however, rumors began to spread that Sony was unhappy with the results obtained by Bend Studio with this project, so much so that the game director left the company and the publisher canceled any plans for the sequel. Days Gone 2 won’t happen but many still hope for it, in the meantime the first Days Gone has been re-evaluated by many, and although it is not an absolute masterpiece, it represents one of the symbolic games of 2019, for better or for worse.
