Dragon’s Dogma 2: How to Unlock the True Ending

Are you playing Dragon’s Dogma 2? If you are, you probably already know that it is possible to complete the game in multiple ways, obtaining different endings each time. Among these there is one which is a real secret ending which integrates within itself a whole piece of history not analyzed in the other endings present and more simply obtainable. Let’s go find out how to unlock the true ending in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: how many endings are there?

Capcom’s title is a video game with three canonical endings, one bad, one good and one secret, called true ending.

The first two are obtained by finishing the game and making one of the two choices that you can encounter during the final stages of the adventure while the final third, the secret one, is obtained in a slightly more elaborate way.

The final third, among other things, it allows the player to access a series of exclusive contents that cannot be unlocked in any other way, allowing the achievement of a particular type of postgame.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: How to Unlock the True Ending or Secret Ending

To unlock the true ending of Dragon’s Dogma 2 it is necessary to work a little and for several reasons: it is necessary to reach the canonical ending of the game but it is also necessary to have obtained a particular type of object, which can then be used to unlock a particular section of the game.

Specifically, here is everything you need to do to unlock the secret ending:

  1. First you need to get to the final mission Inheritance (legacy) which is carried out on top of the moonlight tower (moonglint Tower). Here the dragon will appear and force us to choose between running away and fighting him.
  2. Let’s deal with it and get to the coronation ceremony; However, let’s not sit on the throne, but rather let’s go and talk to the pioneer (pathfinder) who is sitting at the table on the left side of the throne. Let’s talk to him twice (after the first time he will move) and tell him to send us back to fight the dragon.
  3. During the long cutscene where this will turn, when we have control of our character, we open the object menu and select the strengthened unholy blade (empowered godsbane blade). In this way we will kill ourselves and start a very long but also very interesting cutscene, which will end up unlocking a new section of the game called “Dragon’s Dogma 2”.
  4. Once the cutscene is completed we will find ourselves again in the world that we have learned to know up to that moment, however with several differences to take into consideration; this will be our new post-game and we will have to partially complete it to get to the new ending.

The new map, called world without protection, will be based on the same as the base game with the addition of several bosses and some new areas; this will slowly be incorporated by a fatal red fog which, in fact, will place an invisible timer over our heads. To try to play as much as possible and discover as much content as possible, our advice is to start exploring the cities further outside the map, moving using telecrystals and reducing sleep to that which is absolutely essential.

At this point, in order to unlock the secret ending, you will need to complete the following things:

  • Complete the three main missions of this new open world that is Dreams Apart, A Scholarly Pursuit And Halls Of The First Dawn;
  • evacuate cities by convincing citizens to temporarily relocate to the Seafloor Shrine;
  • explore the places marked by large red rays coming down from the sky; There are 5 of them in the game world and each of these is connected to special bosses to face.

Completed all these tasks at the Seafloor Shrine a new reddish beam will appear with the pioneer nearby. Let’s talk to each other and then interact with the red beam to unlock the true ending.

Let’s watch the new final cutscene and we will have really finished Dragon’s Dogma 2; now, if we want, we can start Dragon’s Dogma 2 again by selecting the New Game + item.
