The Times interviews Jannik Sinner and publishes the interview on the day the Wimbledon tournament begins. The interview takes place during Italy-Switzerland at the European Championships and Sinner presents himself with the live streaming of the match on his mobile phone. (Here Sinner talks about the importance of the ear in tennis).

The Times describes it this way:

Sinner smiles shyly while loading and live stream from the match on the his phone: «AhHere I am Who. Also when i look football,” he says a little desperate prima to burst out laughing.

One theme is the rivalry with Alcaraz. If all goes well, the two would meet in the semifinals.

The British newspaper writes:

Ogni time the couple meetsit tends to sell out. A quarter-final of five hours and 15 minutes at the Us Open In the 2022 was the game of the year. Equally compelling the semi-final in five set at Roland Garros last month, Alcaraz won again. The Spaniard described their challenges as “probably the games more difficult from the my short career”.

We talk about Sinner and the emotion.

“Tears of happiness? I haven’t had them yet” – ma don’t try to disguise il ache of those defeats. «[Ho pianto] after losing to Carlos at the US Opena little too at Roland Garros” he added. «Ci I am always moments where you feel emotions that you don’t want, in the locker room or sometimes when you are in the car for the transfer or even in the hotel room alone. Means what do you care of the sport. Means what you want to achieve This level”dice.

The first challenge between the two dates back to April 2019.

«He was already playing a tennis Better of me. I remember Still the match. He had 15 years, two years younger of me, which at that age is a huge difference, I thought for sure it was something special».

Sinner and the need to be independent soon

Sinner talks about the need he has always had to not be a burden on his parents’ finances.

«Non I never liked it the feeling of using my parents’ money. (…) I wanted to arrive early to the point where I could earn money.”

The Times points out that this problem has now been largely overcome. It writes of‘ten-year agreement with Nike, agreement of worth £125 million and recalls the sensation it caused a Wimbledon last year the Gucci duffel bag in which he carried his rackets.

The story goes that Sinner He has never set foot in a nightclub and rarely touches alcohol, even though he now lives half an hour down the coast from Monte Carlo.

There’s a slight dichotomy between the Gucci poster boy who dined with Ryan Gosling and Salma Hayek in Mayfair last week and the more reserved character keen to leave the Wimbledon courts and watch football in peace.
