It’s the day of Jannik Sinner’s debut at Wimbledon. Today, Monday 1 July, the world number one (who won his first title on grass on Sunday 23 June, winning the ATP final in Halle against the Polish Hubert Hurkacz) will face German Yannick Hanfmann. It will be the third (and last) match on court one of a program that begins at 14 with the Kovacevic-Medvedev challenge and which continues with Bektas-Sabalenka. In the last edition Sinner reached the semifinals, beaten by Novak Djokovic.
The predictions
Now he arrives with the aura of a big favorite: «I am very happy to be here. There is a very special tournament coming up, I’m happy with how I played last week and I hope to find a good condition”, said Sinner. It’s still: «In Paris, at Roland Garros, I arrived with many doubts, here I feel physically better. After Paris, I took a few days off and then I started again, I arrive here without doubts about my body as I had then because we worked a lot and I’m not worried. I’m happy to be here and I’m ready to compete. On grass when you have confidence it helps you and I have a lot of it. Last week was important for me, last year I made the semi-finals here so I know I can play well. Of course, every year is different and every tournament has different conditions: I’m trying to get used to it here, build my trust. There’s no point in thinking about seeding: everyone here wants to win and I can’t wait to get started and play good tennis.”

Sinner and Hanfmann have already faced each other in the first round of a Slam. Last year at the debut of the Us Open, victory for the blue (6-3, 6-1, 6-1), who then stopped in the round of 16 with Alexander Zverev.
