Cofidis for every occasion at the Tour de France 2024. The transalpine team, capable of conquering two stages last year to break a very long fast that lasted 15 seasons, will try to confirm itself this year with a selection that can aspire to be protagonists almost every day thanks to a decidedly varied selection. In fact, the sprinter Bryan Coquard, the climbers Jesus Herrada, Ion Izagirre and Guillaume Martin have been called up, but also men for intermediate stages such as Axel Zingle, an explosive and fast runner who could get noticed from the first stages, aiming for the difficult stages when he will not be alongside of the reference sprinter.
Completing the selection which will start from Florence on 29 June are three riders ready to contribute to the captains, but also elements capable of making themselves noticed firsthand if given the opportunity such as Piet Allegaert, Simon Geschke and Alexis Renard. In case of problems these days, the replacements will be Stanislaw Aniolkowski and Anthony Pérez.
“Without surprises, we are fielding the best possible lineup to achieve our objectives – explains team manager Cédric Vasseur – We will have a balanced team. For the sprints it is built around Bryan Coquard, who will be able to count on Alexis Renard, Piet Allegaert and Axel Zinge. When the road climbs, Guillaum Martin will have three riders to support him: Ion Izagirre, Jesus Herrada and Simon Geschke. Our team’s first objective will be the stage victory.”
