Sport and inclusion, Kellanova redevelops a playground in Turin

Milan, 24 June. (askanews) – The basketball court in the heart of the Ruffini Park in Turin is resurrected and changes face, transforming itself into a completely regenerated and redeveloped area to be experienced in the name of sport and inclusion. Thanks to Kellogg’s Better Days, the initiative launched by Kellanova with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle by promoting diversity and social inclusion.

“Better Days means donating better days – Giuseppe Riccardi, general manager Italy of Kellanova, tells askanews -. What do we want to do then? Give well-being to people, combining a healthy lifestyle, therefore with physical activity and a healthy diet that starts from breakfast , to be ever closer to the communities, in this case to the city of Turin, and create an increasingly inclusive society, which starts from sport and has no gender barriers of diversity in terms of ability”.

Turin is just one stage of a broader journey that started in 2023 and which this year has already led to the redevelopment of a basketball court in Pesaro. “The success began last year, so much so that this year there are 5 stages, more than double those of last year – the manager explains -. Pesaro has always had basketball in its DNA and therefore has had a very important public response”.

Among the other ambassadors of Kellogg’s Better Days there is, for the second consecutive year, a basketball champion of the caliber of Marco Belinelli, the only Italian player to have won the NBA title. “Like Kellogg’s we have created many beautiful pitches. Even the pitch here in Turin is a fantastic thing – underlines the captain of Virtus Segafredo Bologna. They are certainly fantastic projects. Obviously starting from nutrition, which is a super important thing and we will talk about it in this day here in Turin, and then obviously also to get to the pitch. The pitch is a place where I personally have grown from all points of view. So I still have some relationships with me things that I have carried with me and will always carry with me in life.”

Also in Turin Kellanova is the protagonist together with the Italian Red Cross of the Breakfast Club project, carried out in the XXV Aprile primary school. “Since 2017, we have been distributing free breakfast to the children of an elementary school every morning, from Monday to Friday – comments Roberta De Bernardi, Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Project representative of the Cri Committee of Turin -. In all these years more than 150 children, brothers and sisters, in short, entire families. We have distributed over 40 thousand breakfasts, this year alone more than 8,700 breakfasts for 105 children in total leads to eating in a healthy, pleasant but healthy way”.

After Turin, Kellogg’s Better Days will also stop in Brindisi, Rome and Milan.
