There couldn’t have been a better way to celebrate first place in the ATP Doubles Race. Andrea Vavassori, from Pinerolo in Turin, together with Simone Bolelli, won the ATP 500 doubles tournament in Halle in Germany, one of the most prestigious grass tournaments on the circuit.

Vavassori/Bolelli got the better of Krawietz/Puet by winning both sets in the tie-break, a further sign of the great solidity acquired by this pair of doubles players who managed to close out both matches at the decisive moment.

For Vavassori and Bolelli it is the second doubles title of this season, this time on grass after the one won on clay in Buenos Aires.

This season they reached the final at both the Australian Open and Roland Garros. At the event on the sacred grass of Wimbledon, scheduled from Monday 1st to Sunday 14th July, they will present themselves at the top of the seasonal doubles ranking and among the favorite pairs, just like at the Paris Olympics, from 26th to 11th August, where they will have the opportunity to avenge the recent defeat in the last act of the Parisian Slam and in the next tournaments.

Andrea Vavassori’s dream of playing the 2024 ATP Finals at home, from 10 to 17 November at the Inalpi Arena, in a protagonist doubles match with Simone Bolelli is ever closer to becoming reality.
