Tom Pidcock he is satisfied with his performance at Tour of Switzerland 2024. The British rider finished the Swiss stage race in sixth position, thanks to a great performance in the final hill climb, which saw him place fifth fastest of the day, just 50 seconds behind a specialist like Joao Almeida (UAE Team Emirates). The standard bearer of Ineos Grenadiersspeaking to us at the end of his test, revealed his plans for stage racing in the future and then confirmed what he will do before this summer’s Tour de France.

How do you feel?
“I think it was my best time trial ever since I turned pro, so I can’t help but be really happy about it. This week I have been getting better and better day by day. I started badly, coming from the retreat at high altitude, I was exhausted but every day it got better and better. The data from this time trial of mine are really good.”

What can you tell us now about your future and classification ambitions in stage races?
“This race is a demonstration of the type of practice that is needed. We did five days in a row in the mountains and every day I felt better and better. It’s a very positive thing to see in my opinion. I think I’m sixth overall, I don’t know. But I don’t want to be one of those who is satisfied with a Top10 overall. This is a positive sign for the future.”

What will you do now before the Tour de France?
“Tonight again in Cras Montana and next weekend I will do the mountain bike World Cup race. So I won’t go home but I will stay here in Switzerland.”
