PARIS After the first sentences of Ousmane Dembele, the PSG and France striker who had launched an appeal to his compatriots to go and vote, without specifying for or against whom, his teammate Marcus Thuram takes a stand: «The situation is very serious. I found out about the early elections after the match against Canada, we were all a bit shocked in the locker room. It is the sad reality of our society today. Every day on TV there are messages to help this party (the Rassemblement National, ed) to move forward. As Ousmane (Dembélé) said, we must tell everyone to go and vote. As citizens, whether it is you or me, we have to fight every day to ensure that this situation does not reproduce itself and that the RN does not pass (to the legislative elections of 30 June and 7 July, ed.)”.
Marcus in the name of father Lilian Thuram
The Inter striker is used to lining up «also due to the example of my father», Lilian Thuram, the world champion with France in 1998 and then a protagonist in the Italian championship with Parma and Juventus, who created a foundation against racism and often speaks out against the ideas of the Rassemblement national.

France will play their first match on Monday in Dusseldorf against Austriaand it is likely that the theme of the next elections will continue to accompany the team’s sporting performances.
