Matteo won the Italian derby at the ATP in Stuttgart Berrettini who broke Lorenzo’s resistance in two sets Musetti with the score 6-4 6-0: he will be awaited by the British player in the final Jack Draper, number 40 in the ATP ranking who in the other semi-final prevailed against the American Brandon Nakashima with a score of 6-3 6-3. For the 28-year-old Roman, the chance to get his hands, for the third time, on the trophy of this grass tournament. Clear superiority of the Roman tennis player who, in addition to returning to excellent levels, also rediscovers his feeling on a physical level with one of his favorite surfaces.
A break in the 1st set, then Musetti’s collapse
In the first set the match is immediately directed to the third game when, with the score at 1-1, Berrettini breaks Musetti by going up 2-1 and confirming on his own serve. Interviewed at the end of the meeting, Berrettini explains that the important thing was “save energy, I think I played enough this week. It’s never easy playing with a friend, there was tension at the beginning but I was able to stay calm. The crowd has been incredible since the first year, 2019, when I was young.”. Then he explains that in his life, having had many injuries, it wasn’t so obvious to return here in the final.
To the final question on what he thinks of the opponent he will face tomorrow, here is the answer from the blue. “I never faced Draper, we didn’t even train. He is a very good player, he is serving great and tomorrow it will be a service match. Good luck to him but I will try to beat him“.
