«With the Randonnée – explains Marco Torres, who replaced Pierlugi Marzorati as president of the Fabio Casartelli Foundation a year ago – we realized that our event was losing appeal among cyclists. The collaboration started in 2022 did not bring the desired results and, therefore, we have revised the organization”.
No more Olympic and family Randonnée with alternating starts one year from Albese with Cassano and one year from Valmadrera, therefore, but transformation into a non-competitive cross-country test, with timed climbs to give that extra touch of competitiveness to those who want sign up for the 25th edition scheduled for Sunday 21 July. In short, the just over 120 starters for 2023 were crucial in trying an alternative path aimed at relaunching the event.
