The Dutch Nerazzurri winger’s weeks are now numbered in Milan. After the European Championship he could be sold.
A change of ownership, the appointment of the new president by the Board of Directors and some practically agreed renewals. There have been intense weeks at Inter immediately after the end of a triumphal season which saw the Nerazzurri as absolute protagonists in Italy.
The twentieth Scudetto, the second star, yet another Italian Super Cup put in the safe. Important results, of course, but they must not make us forget how much and how we could have done much better in Europe, with an elimination from the Champions League round of 16, at the hands of Atletico Madrid, which did a lot of harm.
Now, Inter’s goal is to build an even more competitive squad in order to aim to make as much progress as possible in the Champions League and compete on equal terms with the strongest teams on the continent. To do this, however, there will be a need to further strengthen a squad that already appears very strong, but it still needs some small tweaks to be almost perfect.
