MESSINA – Messina’s immobility in recent weeks also seems to be linked to the discussions underway between the current ownership and a foreign group. The potential buyers, who would take over the majority of the company, have not yet revealed themselves but we know they are an Anglo-American group. President Pietro Sciotto would not be completely ousted but by giving up the majority of the shares he would have less weight in the decisions.

This week seems to be decisive in one direction or another. The buyers seem to be able to satisfy the demands of the Sciotto family, who have always been demanding in the past, and so this time the deal could be closed positively. After years of failed negotiations and backtracking, the current owners seem to have found a serious group to talk to and at the same time the fact that nothing has leaked about the new investors gives us hope.

It therefore seems clear why, after registering and confirming the coach, the sporting director’s box remains empty and consequently the entire transfer market blocked. If Messina really changes hands, we are talking about the majority of the club, whoever arrives will want to have a say in future choices. Of course the negotiations cannot last too long because the summer transfer session is already open today and we will have to think about withdrawing. For this reason it is thought that soon, in this first week of July, a “closing” could be reached.
