A week after the defeat against Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-final of Roland Garros, Jannik Sinner he is ready to return to the field. The world number one has already arrived at Halle to participate in the grass tournament, starting from Monday 17 June.
Like what happened last year, Sinner chose the German event as the only preparation stage ahead of Wimbledon, the third Slam of the season scheduled from July 1st in London. A tournament that promises to be very challenging for Jannik. The main draw in Halle includes Zverev, Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Rublev, Hurkacz and the defending champion Bublik.
In Halle, however, Sinner will also have the opportunity to further consolidate his lead in the standings, should he improve on the result obtained last year, when he retired during the quarter-final match against Bublik. A forfeit that he had feared for his presence at Wimbledon, a hypothesis later averted with Jannik who managed to reach the semifinals.

Speaking of Wimbledon, Rafa Nadal has announced his absence from the Championships. A choice already anticipated after Roland Garros and now confirmed by the Iberian champion himself with a post on social media. Nadal aims for Olympic Games which will be played on the clay courts of Roland Garros and, considering his conditions are certainly not at their best, he prefers not to change the surface.
In addition to confirming his second consecutive forfeit at Wimbledon (last year he was injured), Nadal made his presence official at theBastad ATP, 250 tournament on clay which is held in Sweden in the week from July 15th to 21st. An event that Rafa won 19 years ago, in the 2005 edition, in which, shortly after his first triumph at Roland Garros, he defeated Berdych in three sets in the final.
Nadal will use the Nordea Open to test his condition in view of the Olympic tournament. The same choice, moreover, made by Sinner. The blue also decided to participate in Bastad, in the week following the conclusion of Wimbledon. A choice that Jannik communicated before Roland Garros and which further certifies his ambitions to present himself at his best at the Olympic tournament, in which it is not excluded that he could play the doubles with Sonego or Darderi.
