The fourth of eight stages was that of 12 June, arriving in Borgomanero and starting from Pertusio, a small municipality that interpreted with great enthusiasm the passage of the Giro Next Gen on its territory, dressing up and dedicating itself completely to the start of the Giro with events and demonstrations.
Yesterday the “turning point” of the fifth stage, the Bergamo – Cremona, which as its main theme saw the valorisation of the context dedicated to the research and development of Italian industrial excellence.
Present at the “Kilometro Rosso”, representing the ANCI, was Deputy General Secretary Antonella Galdi who commented from the stage: “This year we have started, in a structured way, a collaboration with RCS Sport which is giving us great satisfaction, the result of the The intuition of combining the institutional activity of representing the requests of the Municipalities with a sporting event as important as the Giro d’Italia.
With the Giro Next Gen we are also at the heart of the activities that ANCI carries out in favor of the youth world. For years we have been engaged, in collaboration with the Department for Youth Policies and the Universal Civil Service of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, in the financing of projects carried out by the Municipalities, which have the aim of promoting the full integration of young people in the communities, allowing them to live well and this by implementing measures that promote social inclusion, well-being and improvement in the quality of life.

And Sport can only be among these measures, without forgetting the economic component, that is, offering income and employment opportunities to young people. We know well how dramatic the youth unemployment rate is in our country and we strongly believe that investing in training and knowledge on the related activities that can be generated by sporting events of this type and by the world of the bike economy in general is strategic today to create new youth employment and new entrepreneurship. This is what we want to talk about and this is why we are here today.” This experience is representing for ANCI the best synthesis between valorisation of the territory, sport and opportunities for young people and is therefore an experience that will continue in the future, concludes Antonella Galdi: “The Giro d’Italia is a very important showcase, the returns we have had during the Giro were significant, not only in terms of communication and the narrative of the territories, but for the relationships that are built step by step between institutions, young people, the business world and the third sector. We are building a strategy that will certainly bring significant benefits to the territories, to the young generations and to the country as a whole.”
