Elba rugby participated in the Under 14 “13° Memorial Quintavalla” tournament in Colorno

The Under 14 tournament “13° Memorial Quintavalla” took place on Sunday 9 June in Colorno in which Elba participated (with the name Mascalzoni del Canale 1) supported by some elements of Valorugby Emilia of the same age.

In a sultry climate and overcast skies, the boys faced Milan, Blues Brescia and Rugby Lions, unfortunately only achieving one victory out of three matches in the qualifying round, even though all the matches ended with measurable results.

Paying on the field for the long break for the championship which ended some time ago and the new additions with only half an hour of training, our boys then won the final for 5th place against Colorno itself.

All in all a positive result. Since the beginning of the year we have managed to reduce the age gap between the two classes and set up a competitive game especially in spaces and defense.

But the most important thing is that the boys lived an experience that will leave good memories and strengthen the concept of team. The welcome on Saturday at the Valorugby sports center was warm, with parents and managers who really thought of everything necessary for our children and carers. The day in Colorno was impeccable. Two close realities, adversaries but not in competition, which have managed to convey not only a concept of rugby but a project that goes well beyond the field by supporting the development of the kids and all those who gravitate in the environment, truly 360 degrees .

Hoping to have given moments of fun to our players, we bid them farewell to the summer break and are ready to start again with new challenges, especially for those who will rise to the higher category next season.

While the management sector is already working to best prepare the 2024/2025 championships, we wish everyone a good summer.
