MotoGP, Lewis Hamilton: “Marquez-Ducati, I can’t wait!”

This has been a week of very important official announcements. First Jorge Martin signed by Aprilia, then the signing of Marc Marquez for the Ducati factory team. The latter is the move that has attracted most of the attention, as he is the most media-covered (and most successful) rider on the MotoGP grid. A year ago he was at Honda, immersed in a thousand difficulties and many doubts about the future, today he has rediscovered the joy of racing and has secured the best saddle for the two-year period 2025-2026.

Marquez in Ducati: Hamilton’s comment

Fans on social networks went wild commenting on this news from the MotoGP rider market. Ducati’s decision to focus on Marquez and not Martin as Pecco Bagnaia’s teammate sparked various reactions. Lewis Hamilton also spoke about the topic when asked during the press conference for the F1 Canadian Grand Prix.

These are the words of the seven-time world champion: “This is fantastic news, Marc is incredible. I love MotoGP and am excited about the future of the sport. I believe that with Liberty Media they will learn a lot about what happened in Formula 1 and there will be great growth. The races are wonderful and seeing Marquez on the Ducati will be great“.

Marc and Lewis in red from 2025

Hamilton is a great admirer of Ducati and will carefully follow Marquez’s performances on the red Desmosedici GP: “The Ducati has always been a very beautiful bike and from a sportsman’s point of view it is always nice to have a new environment, a new challenge, new people, new goals. There is always a little extra tension and uncertainty of knowing whether you will adapt well to that environment, but it’s exciting when they welcome you. I can’t wait to see Marquez in red“.

The current Mercedes driver will in turn be the protagonist of a sensational transfer in 2025, to Ferrari. In his case, the announcement came some time ago and obviously shook the F1 environment. It will be interesting to see how Charles Leclerc will react with a legend at his side, the same type of curiosity that the Bagnaia-Marquez pairing also arouses. There are those who foresee sparks and tensions, good drivers and teams will have to be good at avoiding trouble that could compromise the results.
