Segrate – In the thief’s garage there was everything from stolen motorbikes to designer shoes and bags. Between motorbikes, bags and shoes, the value of the stolen goods seized is close to one million euros. After a long and complex investigation, the Carabinieri of the Bergamo operational section arrested a 32-year-old on charges of receiving stolen goods. The arrest, which occurred on October 19, 2023, has only now been made known, after the green light from the judicial authority, which concluded investigations into several people in various locations in northern Italy.

Land investigations began after an October 7, 2023, motorcycle theft at an important motorcycle dealer in Albano Sant’Alessandro. On that occasion, the thieves had entered the building by making holes in the walls and had stolen 20 motorbikescausing damage of several hundred thousand euros.

Thanks to video surveillance footage, the investigations made it possible to ascertain that the motorbikes were loaded onto a van, subsequently identified and followed to a yard of a company that manages several garages in Segrate. Here the police intervened, blocking the suspect, the 32-year-old, while he unloaded the motorbikes from the van.

The precautionary measure was validated during the immediate hearing, but no precautionary measure was applied to the man, who had previously had no criminal record.
