Carlo Acutis will be proclaimed a saint “on a date to be determined”, most likely during the Jubilee. The Pope said this, pronouncing the ritual formula during today’s ordinary public consistory for 15 causes of beatification, including that of the boy who died of severe leukemia at just 15 years old, whose reputation for sanctity “has extended in very shortly after his death not only in Italy and Europe, but on all continents”, as underlined by Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, prefect of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints, in the presentation of the profiles of the blessed.

The other 14 blessed will instead be registered in the Register of Saints on October 20th. The first 11 are the martyrs of Damascus: Manuel Ruiz López and seven companions, of the Order of Friars Minor, and Francis, Mooti and Raffaele Massabki, lay faithful. Then follow Giuseppe Allamano, priest, founder of the Institutes of the Consolata Missionaries and the Consolata Missionary Sisters; Marie-Léonie Paradis (born: Virginie Alodie), founder of the Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Holy Family; Elena Guerra, founder of the Congregation of the Oblates of the Holy Spirit, known as the “Sisters of Santa Zita”.
