The body of Giustino Danilo Colella, the 19-year-old young man who yesterday dived into the waters of the Enza river at lunchtime, after a barbecue with two other friends, was identified at 2pm, after more than 24 hours of searches, and he never resurfaced. The body was identified by the Reggio Emilia firefighters who are proceeding with its recovery. The tragedy occurred in San Polo d’Enza, in the Reggio Emilia area, on the border with Parma, at a point where a concrete structure creates a sort of waterfall in the river. A very dangerous stretch, where the water current is strong, and made even more dangerous by the floods caused by the bad weather of recent days. The 19-year-old was a plumber born in Ukraine and raised in Reggio Emilia. His body was found on the Parma side of the river, not far from the point where he had dived from the opposite Reggio bank.

In addition to the firefighters who have worked tirelessly in recent hours to search for the 19-year-old, volunteers from the Croce Azzurra public assistance civil protection service in Traversetolo have also been involved in the search, who have also made the light tower available to illuminate the search areas. .
