Furthermore, new images of the TV series with Jeff Goldblum have been released by Netflix.

A millennia-old mystery may have been solved: even the gods of Olympus enjoyed grilled meat and vegetables. What remains to be discovered is whether Zeus lit the barbecue with his thunderbolts. The answer will come on August 29thwhen on Netflix will debut Kaosa contemporary and darkly comic reimagining of Greek mythology with the Oscar nominee Jeff Goldblum as the king of the gods.

Kaos: The plot of the new Netflix TV series

Created by the screenwriter of The End of the F***ing World Charlie Covell, Kaos presents Zeus as someone who has long enjoyed his status as the lord of Olympus. That is until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Neurosis takes over, leading him down a dangerous and paranoid path. Zeus becomes convinced that his downfall is imminent and begins to see signs of it everywhere.

Zeus’ once-trustworthy brother, Hades (David Thewlis, Fargo), god of the underworld, is secretly losing control of his dark domain. There is a backlog of dead waiting to be processed and they are getting restless. Era (Janet McTeer, Ozark), the queen of the gods, exercises dominion over the Earth – and Zeus – in her own unique way. But her power and freedom are threatened by Zeus’s growing paranoia, and she is forced to act, while Zeus’s rebellious son, Dionysus (Nabhan Rizwan, Station Eleven), is out of control and on track for a cosmic collision with his father.

On Earth people crave change, yet Poseidon (Cliff Curtis, Fear the Walking Dead), god of the sea, storms, and earthquakes (and horses), is more interested in the size of his mega-yacht and where the next party is being held. The well-being of ordinary mortals is of little concern to him. Unfortunately for the gods, some of those mortals are beginning to realize this. Riddy (Aurora Perrineau, Westworld), Orpheus (Killian Scott, Secret Invasion), Caneus (Misia Butler, The Academy of Good and Evil) e Ari (Leila Farzad, I Hate Suzie) come from different walks of life and are all cosmically linked in the battle against Zeus. Each of them has a very different role to play. Each of them could be destined to defeat the gods.

Kaos, the first of which was released last March primo teaser trailer“it’s basically a contemporary retelling of Greek mythology, so it’s a great show,” Covell explained to RadioTimes. “It’s a 10-hour series for Netflix, hopefully with a comparable scope to Game of thrones – but from the point of view of tone it should seem The End of the F***ing Worldin terms of humor, soundtrack and look.”
