The Roman coach bid farewell to the Emilian franchise, with whom he collaborated for a total of 6 seasons

Zebre Parma were a fixed point in Fabio Roselli’s coaching career. The Roman coach had a relationship with the federal franchise lasting at least 6 seasons, divided into two parentheses and with different roles. However, with the end of the 2023/24 season his role as head coach has come to an end: from next year he will be replaced by Massimo Brunello.

A decidedly long period, spent first as coach of the attacking midfield, then of the defense collaborating with Michael Bradley and finally as head coach himself. The technician retraced these stages in an interesting interview with Gazzetta di Parmato say goodbye to the club with which he collaborated so much.

Zebre, Roselli speaks: “Between changes and precariousness it hasn’t been easy, yet excellence is being born”

“Let’s say that I lived the Zebras for all that period and even more. An excellent experience in the period with Bradley, especially the first year, when he still had full powers to direct the project; we were aligned, I grew a lot and going from attack to defense was very educational. Then, with the change in governance, a lot changed. When I was asked to take the position I made a map of my responsibilities and the path to take, but the reality was a little different, I had to adapt.”

Ability to adapt is fundamental, but also put to the test, in a company (100% Fir) that has so many difficulties in winning and that changes the board so often: “It’s complicated. It is clear that the Fir must say what the Zebras are for but I believe that management and operations should be in the hands of those who live it day after day: it is like this everywhere”.

As for the team, on the one hand Roselli is proud of his work with so many young people, but on the other hand he has something to regret: “I think that in Italy we need to accelerate the growth of young people. I am happy for the success of some athletes, such as Fischetti and Pani, the increasingly confirmation, I hope, of Zambonin and Fusco, but also of Manfredi, Gesi, Canali, Montemauri, Nocera. Others will appear. I would also like to give them a winning mentality, but this depends on many factors. And it’s not easy to work peacefully while continually feeling precarious”, amidst rumors of team transfers or substitutions.

There was also a response to those who claim that the Zebre have failed to build a synergy with the Emilian territory: “I believe that the club has done something to create a bond with Parma. The territory, however, must perceive that even if starting from the discussion of development and from a step below our adversaries, excellence is being shaped”, concluded Fabio Roselli.
