arrives in 2025, orders ready to go

The R 1300 GS is forced by the competition to watch its back. The new BMW model is already ready to outclass it on the market.

Towards the end of 2023, it had been able to demonstrate how capable it was of reaching the highest peaks on the market and 2024 confirmed it. Now, however, the R 1300 GS is about to be outclassed by another model that will arrive next year, but which is already ready to do battle with anyone in commercial terms.

It was the end of September 2023 when BMW began putting the R 1300 GS into series production and expectations were very high right from the start. In fact, this road enduro was able to confirm expectations, thanks to a boxer engine that had already amazed everyone with the previous versions of the R models. This is the sixth generation part of the GS series, which has been in production since 1980.

Now, however, BMW is ready to amaze everyone with a new example, which will take inspiration from it. It will be an even more adventurous version capable of satisfying all those enthusiasts of the genre who are increasingly inclined towards more extreme activities on dirt roads. Even on the road, however, it will be able to please everyone, thanks to features that are, to say the least, unattractive.

R 1300 GS, now BMW aims to exceed the limits achieved

The new model from the Munich company will be heavier, taller and shorter than the R 1300 GS. In fact, the weight should increase by 3 kg compared to it, with a tank that should be around 30 litres.

This is the new version of it, i.e the Adventure, 2,270 mm long and between 1,538 and 1,588 mm high. The rims and tires will be 19″ and 17″, with tires measuring 120/70 and 170/60. The operators of the BMW Motorrad press office directly confirmed these data, adding that the new model was assembled in Switzerland.

The globetrotter version of the R 1300 GS, therefore, it is ready to arrive on the market, but not before 2025. The details that have recently come to light can also make us think about the price it will have on the market. In fact, if the Standard 1300 models cost 21,300 euros and the 1250 ones 22,400 euros, it is thought that the Adventure could have a price of around 23 thousand euros.

The boxer engine it will mount, the 1300, it will be capable of delivering 145 HP at 7,850 rpm, as well as 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The maximum speed that it will be able to reach will be around 220 km/h, i.e. 5 less than the previous version.
