Leclerc on Marcos’ farewell: “Xavi and Ferrari’s decision” – News

A sudden change

When Ferrari announced its decision to appoint last May 10th Bryan Bozzi as Charles Leclerc’s new race engineer replacing Xavi Marcos, this choice was anything but expected. And therefore from the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix the Monegasque driver will find himself interacting with a different pit man for the first time since 2019.

Leclerc’s comment

In the usual Thursday interviews given to the press present at the circuit, Charles Leclerc explained that he was not involved in the decision-making process that led to the step back for Xavi Marcos (destined for other corporate projects), but also that he was confident that he had no adaptation problem with Bryan Bozzi, present in the team for years.

The decision was made between the team and Xavi. It was communicated to me after Miami, but I have always had an excellent relationship with Xavi. However, I am not starting from scratch and so far everything has gone smoothly and I am sure that it will continue like this and that we will be at 100% already this weekend“, explained Leclerc, then cutting the speech short: “Con Bryan we have known each other for years, we already know how to work together. That’s all I can say about it.”
