no feat in Bologna, Jesi beaten 85-7

Rugby Jesi ’70, against the third-placed team in the league table, Bologna fails, in the second round, to achieve what had been the magic of their feat in the first leg: from the away match in Emilia, at the home of the team they had beaten in Jesi last December to 23-22, the Lions return this time with a clear stop, 85-7.

With two rounds to go until the end of the championship, they now head to the next match, which will be the last home match of the season, on Sunday 28 April at the “Latini” against fourth in the rankings Modena (start at 3.30pm).

«They were in great form – comments coach Marco De Rossi on the stop in Bologna – and certainly the motivation to make up for the stop from a group ago was felt and seen. We were decimated at the last minute by the flu and were unable to field the players with whom we had prepared for the match. We were a bit reshuffled but whoever played did it well. I’m satisfied with the first half, in particular the first 20 minutes in which we were excellent, then Bologna came out on top. We took too many points in the second half but, after a red and a yellow, we were also down numerically. Now we focus on the next one.”

De Rossi explains: «It will be important to try to recover from injuries and flu during the week. We want to give a good performance for what will be the last home match of the championship, we want to greet our fans in the best possible way.”
