We have reached the last day of the “regular season” of the women’s A2 basketball championship, after which the “post season” will begin with the playoffs for promotion to the A1 series and the play-outs for remaining in the A2 series. Halley Thunder Matelica, currently in 4th place in the standings with 32 points, will play this last round at home tomorrow – Saturday 20 April (PalaChemiba di Cerreto d’Esi, 8.30 pm) – with Basket Girls Ancona, in an all-out challenge Marche. Matelica – fresh from four consecutive victories – needs the two points to be sure of 4th place: an important placement because it predicts home advantage in the first round of the playoffs. On the opposite front, Ancona (12 points) is certain of 12th place in the standings and already knows that they will face Basket Roma in the playoffs for survival. In the first leg it was the Doric team that won 72-58, turning the tide of the match after a good start by Halley Thunder.
