Improvements to the circuits and surrounding landscapes make the race week experience even more immersive, including Silverstone, which has received a significant update to deliver authentic circuit precision. Updates to Circuit de Spa-Francorchampsto the Lusail International Circuit et al Jeddah Corniche Circuit ensure that the game’s tracks match those in the real world. Audio samples of drivers from F1 broadcasts give new dimension to their reactions to on-track incidents. A new broadcast package and cut scenes make race day even more engaging.

“The new handling model, based on EA SPORTS Dynamic Handling, will allow players to get maximum performance from their car, authentic physics that will give them the confidence to race wheel-to-wheel with their opponents”he has declared Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters. “Our biggest innovation in Career since 2016 delivers more of what our players want, with greater variety of content away from the track. In addition to innovations in handling and Career, the updated circuits, new audio and updated broadcast give players the feeling of being closer to the starting grid.”

As part of the revamped Career Mode, players can choose between an emerging F2 competitor, a legendary icon or create their own legacy. Other innovations include:

  • Getting recognition: Build your reputation within the paddock through on-track objectives. Race day tasks keep players focused on the checkered flag. Completing Contract Targets can help secure a new contract or open the way to secret meetings to negotiate a move to a bitter rival.

  • R&D Updates: The driver’s reputation also affects the support players receive from their team. The higher the reputation, the more motivated the team. Players can go all-in on one innovation or distribute resources for more balanced development.

  • Earning Accolades: In addition to short-term results, each driver has long-term goals based on season expectations. These can range from the number of Top 10 finishes, Pole Positions to winning the World Championship.
