Lamezia Terme – The screening of the film “ is scheduled for Sunday 5 May 2024 at 6 pmI’m your man- Ich bin dein Mensch” by Maria Schrader with Maren Eggert, Dan Stevens, Sandra Hüller. The event falls within the review “Cinema in the Library” conceived and promoted byUNA cultural association for the screening of foreign films in the original language.
Critics have defined “I’m your man” as an “intelligent film that talks about love in the 21st century, with a pinch of science fiction. Planned romance, distrust, relational contractualism, ideals and everyday life, work at the expense of feelings, family problems: in this whirlwind of contrasting emotions the life of the scholar Alma Felser (Maren Eggert) is involved in an experiment to ascertain the functioning of a humanoid, Tom (Dan Stevens), designed to be her perfect partner. A decidedly unusual experience that overturns her life and her work, but also her relationship with the past”. The film boasts an excellent cast including Maren Eggert, awarded at the Berlin film festival for “best leading role”. The review of films in the original language is a highly anticipated event for cinephiles who, at each screening, come from all over Calabria and who are increasingly numerous. In fact, the number of members of the UNA association is increasing, having undertaken this initiative for 11 years, unique in our region, carving out an exclusive space for itself in the Calabrian cultural panorama.
The “Cinema in the Library” exhibition is part of the project process Lamezia Youth Libraryproposed by Lametino Library System e supported by Department for Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. The project also boasts the partnership of Cloister Caffè Letterario, Lucky Friends Association, Civico Trame and Cooperativa Inrete. The screening on Sunday 5 May 2024 will be held in the multipurpose room of the Cloister of San Domenico, in the center of Lamezia.
