PROBABLE LINE-UP – Towards Roma-Milan: Tomori and Maignan are back, all the starters present

Now or never. This is the mantra these days around Milanello. Thursday evening, at 9pm at the Olympic stadium in Rome, the Milan will take the field to try to snatch the pass to the Europa League semi-finals. In front you will find a Rome thanks to the one-goal advantage accumulated at San Siro in the first leg. The comeback requires a feat in a boiling atmosphere: the European competition is the last chance for a trophy for the Devil this year and it could also be the last resort for Stefano Pioli in view of his future on the Milan bench. For this reason, especially after the first act in which he was surprised by De Rossi, the Rossoneri coach study the best possible team.

I am two important returns for Pioli: the first is Mike Maignan between the posts, after the absence in Reggio Emilia; the second is Fikayo Tomori in the center of defense paired with Matteo Gabbia. The Englishman missed the first leg due to disqualification and the one against Sassuolo to avoid a yellow card which would have taken him out of the derby. Thiaw Ma will be on the bench not Kjaer stopped by a physical problem (not serious) after Sunday’s race. The title holders have been confirmed on the bands Calabria and Theo Hernandez. There should be space in the two midfielders, as in the first leg, for Bennacer and Reijnders. Up front, however, Pioli could confirm the usual four: the trident Pulisic-Loftus-Leaobehind the lone striker Giroud. The state of form of Chukwueze however, it could make things change for the Rossoneri coach: in that case we could see Loftus on the bench and Pulisic moved to the attacking midfield.
