MIAMI (United States) – Novak Djokovic is preparing for the clay season where he will not be assisted by Goran Ivanisevic. The world number 1 announced his separation from the legend (with whom he won 12 Slams) but there is still no name for a replacement, Nole himself declared to Tennis Majors: “I still don’t have a clear idea of who my new coach will be, nor if there will be one. I’ve had coaches since I was a kid and now I’m just trying to figure out for myself what I need and what makes me feel more comfortable. You will be notified if anyone joins the team“.
On farewell to Ivanisevic
“Goran is and will remain a lifelong friend of mine and my entire family. He is a dear person, and the end of our collaboration will not interrupt our friendship. After almost five years we had reached a point where we had exhausted our collaboration – he adds – together we wrote pages of history, we won Slams, closed seasons as world no. 1, faced courts and trials, from disqualification at the US Open to detention at the Australian Open. And I will always remember that he was there for me in that moment“.
