Volleyball series A3 – Gola: “Gabbiano, the Super Cup is a privilege”

Mantua After having achieved the first objective of the season, the Final Four of the Italian Cup without much luck, the Gabbiano faces two more finals, thanks to the first place in the regular season with the highest score in A3, the result of an almost perfect season so far. Tomorrow in Palmi they face the local team, kick-off at 5pm, winners of the Italian Cup in Fano, for the A3 Super Cup. All before facing Macerata in the play-off final which awards direct promotion to A2 to one of the two winners of the White and Blue Groups. A thrilling final therefore and with Gola and his teammates in the running to complete their first season in A3 in the best possible way . The team left this morning by train for Palmi and will return by plane to Orio al Serio on Easter night. Captain Gola presents the challenge: «It is a privilege to participate in an event in which two teams from all over Italy are admitted – says the captain – I also believe it is the right recognition for the progress we have made up to this point. It’s wonderful to be there and we won’t be able to do anything but play with a smile. We will face a team that demonstrated in the Italian Cup that it has something more than the other participants. They are physical and playing at home will certainly benefit them. But we will do everything we can to bring home the cup and we will play with the enthusiasm and determination that have characterized us throughout the championship. May the best team win and good volleyball to everyone.” Coach Simone Serafini is on the same wavelength: «It will be a wonderful experience and the finish line of a fantastic journey that led us to qualify. A reward for the perseverance shown so far. In the end we managed to win a lot of points and victory in the White Group. It’s the right reward for this group, author of an already stratospheric year. The greatest credit goes to the boys, wonderful from day one as athletes, but above all as people. We play on the pitch of a very strong team that has already deserved to win a trophy this year. It will be tough, but we are healthy and ready to play our cards with a clear mind and with the satisfaction of having gotten this far.”
