A sensational transfer scenario at Juventus
Recently the journalist Fabio Santini spoke on the microphones of the program “Ti Amo Calciomercato” on TV Play, where the topic could only be that of summer transfers. In particular, Santini focused on Juventus, and talked about a sensational scenario that he would see the farewell of Federico Chiesa to make room for Mateo Retegui. Below are his words.
”Juventus could sell Chiesa and not Vlahovic. There are offers for Chiesa both from Bayern Munich and from the big names in the Premier League, in particular from Liverpool. By selling Chiesa they take home around 40-45 million, with that amount Juventus can come knocking on Retegui’s door again who should not be considered a duplicate of Vlahovic, but as a sidekick.”
Nothing concrete, but not exactly an unrealistic situation
At the moment this was just an idea thrown around by journalist Fabio Santini, even if it doesn’t seem like fantasy. Chiesa is not performing at the levels expected this season, and, thanks to his contract expiring in 2025, the Old Lady might decide to give him the boot and put it on the market.
At that point, however, the Juventus club will have to replace him, and if they intend to continue playing with the two strikers, rather than a player with the characteristics of the former Viola he would go for another center forward, also capable of playing with Dusan Vlahovic. And in this sense the ideal identikit seems to be that of Mateo Retegui.
