The 2024 record
Sinner won 20 of the 21 matches played in 2024, the only defeat being against Alcaraz in the Indian Wells 1000 semi-final. In this first part of the season the 22 year old from South Tyrol won the Australian Open and the Rotterdam tournament. Three instead Medvedev’s defeats in the 21 matches played this year: the Russian reached the final in Melbourne (ko with Sinner), the semi-final in Dubai (eliminated by Humbert) and the final in Indian Wells (ko with Alcaraz).

Sinner and Medvedev have already faced each other ten times in their careers, with the Russian ahead 6-4. Medvedev won the first six matches, Sinner the last four.
Five finals
Five times the two met in the final. Sinner lost the first two (5-7 6-2 6-2 in Rotterdam 2023 and 7-5 6-3 last year in Miami) but won the next three: 7-6 7-6 in Beijing 2023, 7-6 4-6 6-3 in Vienna 2023 and 3-6 3-6 6-4 6-4 6-3 two months ago at the Australian Open.
