MESSINA – PalaRescifina is preparing to host the last challenge of the second phase of the Akademia Città di Messina championship. Saturday afternoon at 4pm the match against Mondovì, who won the tie break in the first leg, leaving more than one regret in the Messina team who did not take advantage of match points in the fourth set. This time the points up for grabs will count less given that the games for the playoffs are over, but it will still be an important test in view of the semi-final for promotion to A1 and above all because Rosa Chemical will perform in the pre-match. The concert, lasting 45 minutes, will start at 3pm accompanying the athletes’ warm-up. The singer, much loved by young people, was among the undisputed protagonists of the 2023 edition of Sanremo with the song “Made in Italy”.
This appointment is part of a larger day which includes, starting from 11am, a series of activities organized in collaboration with the Italian Volleyball Federation – Messina Territorial Committee. In fact, the promotional stage of Volley S3 will take place in the outdoor spaces of the “PalaRescifina”, with the setting up of three fields and one dedicated to Sitting Volley. Games for the little ones are also planned, with inflatables provided by “Neverland” and the possibility of having lunch at the refreshment point in the building.
Costantino: “I am convinced that it will be a success”
The initiative, called “Akademia Sport and Music” and created in collaboration with the Municipality of Messina, is presented thus by Akademia number one Fabrizio Costantino: “On Saturday 30 March we will have the pleasure of hosting Rosa Chemical during the pre-race, with the aim of entertaining the audience and inspiring everyone present. It’s something that has never been seen before in a volleyball match in Serie A and, I am convinced, that it will be a success. When you combine sport with music, entertainment is guaranteed.”
“Even in this case – continues President Costantino – we have dedicated a lot of energy to one aspect, that of inclusiveness, which requires care and maximum attention because it involves first and foremost people who deserve to be able to fully express their identity, their value. We believe that sport is a precious tool in this sense and with Dr. Asquini we were able to immediately find the right formula to proceed.”
An opportunity also for coach Bonafede
Speaking on the matter during the last press conference at home, coach Fabio Bonafede said: “It (the club, ed.) is fantastic and carries out all possible initiatives. I hope you come to listen to the singers and fall in love with volleyball; We, not only as a team but also as a club, will have to welcome them well and inspire those who are present, whether we win or lose.”
