BRINDISI – The Brindisi Local Health Authority, in collaboration with the Territorial Work Assistance Unit to make the healthcare system in the Puglia Region more efficient, with the help of the Health Councilor Tommaso Gioia. Yesterday, Friday 26 April, an important meeting was held in the PTA of Fasano to take stock of the works already carried out and those still to be completed in the old converted hospital.

The meeting, requested by the director of the District Giuseppe Pace, saw the participation of the general director of the ASL Brindisi, Maurizio De Nuccio, of the engineer Renato Admirabile of the Technical Area, director of the works, of the health advisor of President Emiliano, Tommaso Joy.

Tommaso Gioia, health advisor to President Emiliano, expressed his satisfaction with the important work carried out to date: “I am proud to be part of this dedicated and professional team that is working hard to make our healthcare more efficient. The results obtained so far are tangible and demonstrate our constant commitment to improving the quality of healthcare services offered to the community. We will continue to work with determination to guarantee a healthcare system that lives up to citizens’ expectations.”

During the meeting, the logistical redefinition of the spaces and the work underway in the structure were discussed. Here are the details of the work of the territorial assistance unit:

Ground floor: the works were carried out with ERDF funds for the Medical Guard, the First Aid Point, Radiology with the installation of a new CT scan, the Blood Testing Center and the Serd. These last two services will be active in the new environments starting next May.

First floor: the work in the Oncology department is nearing completion and the new vaccination offices are already fully operational, even for travellers.

Second floor: in addition to the outpatient clinic area already built, the air conditioning system in the operating day surgery rooms is being completed.

Third floor: the work of the territorial operations center was completed thanks to Pnrr funding. A large waiting and reception room was also created for the clinics in the area in front.

Fourth floor: the renovation of the Community Hospital has been completed, which will be moved from its current location once the authorization and accreditation procedures by the Region have been completed.

“These interventions will allow the ancient structure of the former Franciscan convent and its cloister to restore their historical and architectural value.
