With the arrival of summer the virus respirators tend to run out early. Yet, there is already talk of Summer wave of Covid-19: the latest official data speak of a significant increase in infections in most regions, but especially in Lazio. For several weeks, in fact, the region has had the highest incidence of Covid cases, «it is a fact that we see in Roman and Lazio hospitals, Sars-CoV-2 is making itself felt again with a slight increase in hospitalizations – of elderly people with other comorbidities – and some small outbreaks that occur in hospitals. “The causes? There is a greater circulation of the virus due to the latest KP.2 and KP.3 variants which have greater transmissibility and then there is a sharply increasing flow of tourists in Rome” reported Andreoni, commenting on the Covid monitoring data which recorded a slight increase in Rt and incidence.
