The young woman allows a few words, still psychologically overwhelmed by what she has suffered. «I was in shock, I didn’t know what to do. I first called a friend of mine and then I went home and told everything”, reconstructs the student. She reveals that she then had the strength to report. And here she is keen to invest her words in an appeal for all those who have suffered abuse: «Don’t be afraid, report it. It is important to trust the authorities. competent.” An accusation of aggravated sexual assault is now pending against Borgese.
The reconstruction
According to what the victim reconstructed, last May 8 the student was waiting for the bus in Via della Magliana, in Rome, when the 39-year-old in a car approached her asking for directions to the ring road. The girl consulted one of her navigation apps on her phone to show him the route. The man, claiming that her phone was completely out of battery and using the excuse of traffic, asked her to get into the car to take him to his destination. However, at a certain point he headed to an isolated street and here the 26-year-old’s nightmare began. A new violence, according to the complaint, perpetrated by Borgese which comes exactly nine years after another rape also carried out by the man. The 39-year-old, in fact, had already been convicted in 2015 for raping and robbing a taxi driver. For this crime, he served seven years in prison in Rieti, before being released in 2022. In 2016 he received another conviction for having molested another girl in 2014. A few years after his release, he is now accused of the same again crime.
