“We haven’t told each other everything, this is my great pain”

Fabiola Sciabbarrasi, ex-wife of Pino Danielehas been told in recent days to the microphones of Radio Marte. The former model, mother of the singer-songwriter’s three children Sara, Sofia and Francesco Daniele, wanted to share some of the passages linked to her relationship with Daniele, from the first meeting with a special cupid like Massimo Troisi, on the day of his passing. Among the many passages of the interview there is also a supposition of the woman on the love story, initially complicated by the separation between the two and the appearance of the new company of the Neapolitan author, Amanda Bonini: “We had moved away. But I am aware that that was just a transition phase. We had stopped recognizing each other. I had stopped being what he had always seen, I had started working again, he had become what I wasn’t used to seeing and so we clashed. Things would heal and go back to how they were before if fate had not decided otherwise. We both had the intelligence to understand that what we had was something unique and that one important moment does not have the power to erase everything else“.

Sciabbarrasi also talked about the couple’s first date, linked to a previous meeting with Massimo Troisi: “Our love relationship was born by chance, we had an excellent cupid, Massimo Troisi. Our first greeting took place at the latter’s home. Massimo entered my life first, having met after a fashion show in Piazza di Spagna. He had invited me along with the entire work group to his house. Since I have always had little love for choir invitations and too much socialising, shortly after arriving at his house I decided to leave: Troisi had offered to accompany me“. A very delicate courtship, that of Troisi to the young woman, which however ended with Sciabbarrasi’s choice to continue their relationship as a friend. It is precisely at that moment that the presentation to Pino Daniele takes place, with Troisi sanctioning the couple from the beginning by saying: “Meet the woman of your life“.

As the ex-wife says, the two immediately realized what could have linked them in the following years, both engaged in a marriage, even if in the process of separation: “From this moment on we never left each other again and after three years Sara arrived, in 1996, the declaration to the world of this great love. I suffered Sara’s birth because we were besieged by photographers, with the third child everything was different, I experienced it with a different lightness“. Sciabbarrasi also recounted the last hours of Pino Daniele: “He fell asleep, five minutes before midnight. When Pino disappeared, he was in our house in Tuscany, with Sofia and Francesco and with his partner at the time. Sofia called me telling me that dad was ill, I I told her to pass me her partner because I knew how to handle an emergency, he had a significant, congenital heart disease. I never made him feel sick. He did things that he hadn’t done in his life. His cardiologist wrote me a message where he told me that they were taking him to Rome and that he had already alerted the cardiology department. The twist of fate is that we had already arranged a day hospital for the following day for the usual checks“.

Sciabbarrasi also returned to one of the regrets that has plagued her over the years: “The regret of not telling each other everything. Time is not enough. We didn’t have time to tell each other everything. This is my great pain. There is a need to tell each other everything, to apologize and there is a need to forgive“. And to the journalist’s question if he had ever dreamed of it, he replied like this: “Yes, a short time ago, dressed in white. He was smiling, ironic, joking as usual. He loved white, especially in summer. He asked me about his children. It was a dream of light. I saw him calm. He is at peace“.
