Sassari The couple you don’t expect. Or maybe yes. After sharing the stage at the New Year’s Eve concert in Olbia, Psalm And Sugar they return together in the song “Overdose d’amore 2024”. The famous song by the bluesman, in fact, will be available digitally starting from midnight, when it will start on Friday 14 June, and in radio rotation from 21 June.
The original idea of reimagining the famous song which this year celebrates 35 years since its publication was born by the Olbia rapper Salmo. «He is a phenomenon – says Zucchero –. Not only for the artist that he is, but as a person: intelligent, fast, frank, truthful, ironic and a great communicator. I recognize myself in him, in what he writes and thinks and I am grateful to him for the tributes he has dedicated to me, first with “Diavolo in Me” and now with “Overdose (D’Amore)”».
The new version of the song merges the two styles. «I am very happy with this collaboration – says Salmo –, Zucchero is an incredible artist, during his career he has written timeless songs and has worked with artists all over the world. I have great respect for him and I am grateful for the strong artistic and human feeling that was created right from the start. We celebrated New Year’s Eve together in Olbia and they were wonderful days in friendship, I find that we are very similar – in the studio and in life – and who knows what other projects we could build. Never before has there been a need for an Overdose of Love for the whole world.”
Salmo is leaving – on June 15th at Fiera Milano Live (Rho) – with “Hellraisers”, the tour that will see him protagonist of the Italian summer festivals together with Noyz Narcos, Zucchero instead debuted last March at the Royal Albert Hall in London with 3 very successful dates and it will touch Italy for 5 unmissable events in the stadiums for the “Overdose of love world tour 2024”.
