ANOHNI and the Johnsons will present the album My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross inside the Ravenna Festival 2024 at Pala De André, the location which last year hosted, again exclusively for our country as part of the event, Laurie Anderson and the band.

On stage together with the singer, for the only Italian date set for June 15th, a 9-piece band, including Julia Kent (cello), Maxim Moston (violin), Doug Wieselman (multi-instrumentalist) and Jimmy Hogarth (guitarist/producer).

Along with the news of the new North American tour, a new song was also released, Breaking, recorded in the same sessions as the last recording test. The European and US ones will be the live appointments for ANOHNI for seven years now, fourteen if we consider the band.

The comeback album

Anticipated by the lead single It Must Change, My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross) marked the return of Anohni with the company name that had accompanied her in her early works. The album was released almost ten years after the last work, the live album Turningand seven from the last solo rehearsal, HOPELESSNESS. Differently from the electronic production of that album, born from the collaboration with Hudson Mohawke And Oneohtrix Point Never, the album marked a return to acoustic arrangements and band chorality under the influence of a rediscovered essentiality and intimacy, without forgetting commitment and awareness of oneself and the world around us. The review on these pages is by Stefano Solventi.
