The rapper, fresh from the success of his second solo album Icon and after publishing a summer feat with Gaia entitled Sex & Samba, was told to the creator’s microphones. A showcase also on the adolescent years of the author of Rome Center, in which he also revealed a sense of economic revenge, a concept that has rarely even entered the musical imagination.
The controversy over Tony Effe’s high school allowance
During the interview, Tony Effe, speaking about his high school years, reveals: “When I was in high school my father gave me 150 euros a week in pocket money. In the sense, what should I do?”. Meanwhile, Gazzoli underlines how the 150 euros are not a lot, encountering resistance from the rapper who underlines: “For me 150 euros were not enough. At 17, however, I already smoked and already had a scooter. I was a poor man from the center. My revenge was economic, I don’t come from public housing, but I lived in a 90 square meter house and I felt inferior when I went to the house of X’s son who had the house with the swimming pool in Capalbio“.
His words triggered, not only the BSMT community, but also some users in the comments of the video published on YouTube, but also in the shorts that cut out the rapper’s intervention in 1.40 minutes. He accuses him of classism and alienation from reality, which so far have not provoked a response from the former Dark Polo Gang rapper from Rione Monti. Let’s talk about sexual harassment for what happened to Tony Effe, regarding the story he gives of a live show: “One thing that bothered me a little was someone who touched my dick while I was doing a live show. I felt raped and thought what would have happened if a man had done it. I gave her a little pizza on the hand, it’s not nice, it wasn’t really nice“. Later, however, he will return to the topic of depression, known in recent years and initially ridiculed: “I often have moments of depression, I don’t want to do things. Maybe my manager will have to call me to do them. Maybe I need to make some stories for the merch, but I stay in bed all day and don’t do them. Before, I didn’t know what anxiety and depression were: I thought only weak people had them“.
