An animated show featuring DC Comics’ most famous and beloved superhero should be nothing new. Some might even say that perfection had already been achieved in the 1990s with Batman. The plot of Batman: Caped Crusader
Available streaming with all episodes from August 1st, Batman: Caped Crusader clearly takes us to Gotham City, where the corrupt outnumber the good, criminals run rampant, and law-abiding citizens live in a constant state of terror. Forged by the fire of tragedy – the murder of his parents – the wealthy Bruce Wayne becomes something more and, at the same time, less than human. He becomes Batman. His personal crusade for justice attracts unexpected allies within the Gotham City Police Department (GCPD) and Gotham City Hall, but his heroic actions end up generating deadly and unforeseen consequences.
When asked “What do you think of Batman?” in the trailer, several Gotham City residents say they’re “scared” and “should catch that monster and lock him up.” Timm, as he told Entertainment Weeklydescribes him as “a really strange human being”, explaining that, being Caped Crusader set in the 1940s, at the beginning of Batman’s career as a vigilante, no one knows what to make of him. “We try to dispel the foregone conclusion that he’s a hero, whether it’s the police, the ordinary citizens of Gotham or the spectators,” the producer added.
