How much will Furiosa’s flop impact the box office? The new film by George Miller linked to the franchise of Mad Max was a failure at the global box office, and could endanger the future of the franchise.

As we told you in recent days, Furiosa will represent a loss of nearly $200 million for Warner Brosconsidering that based on the production costs (168 million dollars budget, to which must be added another approximately 100 million dollars for marketing) the film should have grossed approximately $450 million or more to go into profitor at least a minimum of between $350 and $375 million to avoid running into a loss thanks to deals for streaming rights and the tax levy guaranteed by the Australian government, which hosted the filming.

However Furiosa reached $168 milliona disappointing result and very far from the break-even/profit point: at this point it is not known what the future of Mad Max: The Wasteland will be, presented by director George Miller as another prequel to Fury Road set over the course of a single year of Mad Max’s life, the one before the events of the 2015 film.

It is always possible that Warner Bros will decide to greenlight the new film, attributing the failure of Furiosa to the absence of the main protagonist of the franchise and in the hope that the return of Mad Max can win back the public, but for the moment it is still too early to say: we will keep you updated.

On Breakfast at Tiffany’s It is one of today’s best sellers.
