Am I an absolute villain?’ She was the only person I said to, ‘You were in love with Harry’s mother.’ I explained to him: ‘You are an undercover agent. But you really don’t like Harry. You can’t get over your visceral dislike of this guy who looks so much like your rival.’ So I told Alan Rickman what was going to happen, long before it happened in the movies.
