The Beach Boys is a celebration of the legendary band that revolutionized pop music and the iconic, harmonious sound they created, embodying the California dream and captivating fans for generations. The documentary traces the history of the band from humble family origins and includes never-before-seen footage and interviews with Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks, Bruce Johnston of the Beach Boys and other music luminaries, including Lindsey Buckingham , Janelle Monáe, Ryan Tedder and Don Was. Audiences will have the opportunity to hear words from Carl and Dennis Wilson, along with a new interview with Blondie Chaplin and audio recordings from Ricky Fataar. Produced by Kennedy/Marshall and White Horse Pictures, The Beach Boys is directed by Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny, with a screenplay by Mark Monroe. The film is produced by Frank Marshall, Irving Azoff, Nicholas Ferrall, Jeanne Elfant Festa and Aly Parker, while Nigel Sinclair, Mark Monroe, Tony Rosenthal, Cassidy Hartmann, Glen Zipper, Thom Zimny, Beth Collins, Jimmy Edwards, Susan Genco, Marc Cimino, Jody Gerson, Bruce Resnikoff and Ben J. Murphy serve as executive producers.
“I’m very happy with how the documentary was made, they did an amazing job,” Brian Wilson said. “It really took me back to those days with the boys, the fun and the music. And of course those incredible harmonies”.
The official soundtrack of The Beach Boys, featuring songs from the film, will be available for streaming and download from May 24, while the group’s iconic 1964 album, “Shut Down, Vol. 2,” is available on limited edition colored vinyl (https://shop .universalmusic.it/products/beach-boys-shut-down-volume-2-vinile-colorato).
